Here I am,
holding a presence over the City of Dordrecht, this evening, for one hour at sunset. Each minute passing and feeling my body more and more weighted, a .. of real connection with the city – watching the light appear gradually as dark falls. I have a feeling of responsibility as a citizen, a protectress, thoughts come and go. Love ones, family, close and far away, dancers rehearsing in the theatre below. Marie and Lauren, preparing for the ‘Avond van de Waarnemer’ to come. Jan – Jasper – the Kunstmin team – the watchers – the companions (thank you dear Kees!) – the trainers – thank you all! Without you there is no Waarnemer van Dordrecht!! And thank you to the citizens of the city for lending themselves to the project and wider connection to Belfort- Laval – Rennes – Haguenau – Freiburg- Evreux and Graz to come! My thoughts rest with the 2 little girls playing below. One dressed in kangaroo mask, the other a Lama mask – both with long furry tails.. they ran, stopping to dance for each other, laughing, skipping along.. There it was, a beautiful moment, pure poetry and joy caught in the mind and forever in my minds – eye.
